Safety Information

Our pet collars are made using very durable material and strong buckles. However use of our collars is outside of our control, and we cannot guarantee them against excessive chewing, or pulling. It is the consumer's responsibility to ensure that the collar remains secure, by noting any damage that has occurred over time. By purchasing these products, consumer accepts this responsibility. Our cat collars come equipped with breakaway buckles, and should not be used with a lead of any sort. If you are interested in a small collar and leash, please visit our toy and puppy section.

Collar Care

If your pets are like ours, their collars are bound to get dirty. Not to worry! Wash your pet's collar on the gentle cycle in cold water with a mild detergent or on the top rack of the dishwasher. Do not use bleach. Excessive washing, UV light, or salt water can cause ribbon collars to fade and weaken nylon webbing.


Most orders ship within 2-5 business days.  Some items are made to order and may take up to 10 days to ship. Shipping costs are determined by weight. All US orders are shipped via USPS with delivery confirmation. If you need a rush order please contact us.

International Orders:

You are responsible for all duties and tariffs incurred by your purchase from The Modern Pet. We will fill out all applicable customs forms with every order and declare the full value of the items. We will not mark any order as a gift.


We make every effort to maintain the excellent quality and style you expect from The Modern Pet, however if you are dissatisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may exchange, or return it. Returns must be made within 20 days of receiving the item.

If you would like to return or exchange an item, simply follow the instructions below:


1) Email us at We will provide you with an authorization number and a return address.

2) Repack the item securely in its original packaging along with the packing slip and mail the item back to the address that we provide you. Items without valid authorization numbers will not be accepted. Postage or courier fees for the return shipment must be prepaid.


It is your responsibility to sufficiently package your item when returning it, as we are not responsible for returned items lost or damaged in the mail. We recommend that you return the item via an insured carrier (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS Parcel Post). Upon receipt of your item we will either send your exchange or refund your money. Shipping costs are nonrefundable unless the return is a result of our error. Custom items, used items, or items not in their original condition may not be returned. This return policy applies to all orders shipped to the United States (including Puerto Rico) and Canada. All orders shipped to other international locations are final.
