In our quest for the highest quality, healthiest, most environmentally friendly pet products, we've finally found a tendon chew that is not only organic, not only grass-fed, but also 100% bison, our favorite environmentally restorative species!
We noticed that all the tendon chews available in the stores, even the more expensive ones like Merrick's Flossies?(TM), are labeled "all natural beef chews." Sounds good, but is it? Unfortunately, no.... "All-natural" is actually an FDA term that many people mistakenly assume means something akin to "organic," but it doesn't. It only means a product doesn't have any added artificial or chemical ingredients. So that "all-natural beef" is usually from an overcrowded feedlot, hormone injected, corn-fed, pesticide drenched, and filled with antibiotics ---not what we think is "natural" at all! We don't like supporting that environmentally devastating industry, and what's more, the meat they produce is rather unhealthy to eat.
Bison, on the other hand, when properly raised on grasslands, naturally restore the native tallgrass prairie habitat, and in the process provide wonderfully healthy meat products. So buying bison helps the environment, helps support an environmentally conscious ranching ethic, and is way healthier for your beloved pet! That's what we call a win-win-win situation!
